Atlantic Immigration Program

Employers in Canada’s four Atlantic provinces hire skilled workers from abroad to fill labour shortages. This is an employer-driven route to permanent residence.

About the programme

The Atlantic Immigration Pilot Program (AIPP) became the permanent Atlantic Immigration Program in 2022. It is a partnership between the Government of Canada and four provinces:

  • New Brunswick
  • Newfoundland and Labrador
  • Nova Scotia
  • Prince Edward Island

Employers in these provinces can hire skilled foreign nationals for jobs they cannot fill locally.

Eligibility

  • Language. Proficiency in English, French or both.
  • Clean record. No criminal cases against you.
  • Employer. A job offer from a designated employer in one of the four Atlantic provinces.
