Rural and Northern Immigration Pilot

A community-driven route to permanent residence for skilled workers who want to settle in smaller Canadian communities.

About the programme

The Rural and Northern Immigration Pilot (RNIP) was a community-driven programme to boost economic growth in rural Canada. Skilled workers with a job offer from an employer in a participating community could apply for permanent residence and settle there.

The RNIP pilot has ended. Canada’s new Rural Community Immigration Pilot (RCIP) carries the same idea forward. We’ll tell you which rural routes are open now and whether you qualify.
