Work in Malaysia

Malaysia is a popular choice for international workers, with openings from managerial roles to short-term assignments. We help you secure the right pass.

Employment Pass categories

The pass you need depends on your role, salary and skill level:

  • Employment Pass (Category I). For highly skilled professionals in managerial roles.
  • Employment Pass (Category II). For professionals with specialised or technical skills.
  • Professional Visit Pass (PVP). For short-term assignments.

Each category has its own requirements for qualifications, work experience and minimum salary.

Documents you’ll need

  • Passport valid for at least 18 months
  • Offer letter and employment contract from your Malaysian employer
  • CV
  • Passport-size photographs
  • Educational certificates and qualifications
  • Health examination report
  • Proof of financial capability
  • Any additional documents your pass category requires

The application process

  1. Job offer. You need an offer from a company registered in Malaysia.
  2. Application. Your employer applies on your behalf to the Immigration Department of Malaysia.
  3. Processing. This can take several weeks to a few months, depending on the category.
  4. Approval. You receive a Letter of Approval and collect your work visa from a Malaysian embassy or consulate.
  5. Arrival. In Malaysia you complete a medical screening, and your work permit is endorsed in your passport.

We support you at every stage, from checking eligibility and gathering documents to filing and arrival.
